Privacy policy for Ghostdoku
Effective date: 12 October 2026
App: Ghostdoku for iOS and Android
Developer and data controller: Olhonyx, an independent game studio based in Cyprus
Contact: support@olhonyx.com
This policy describes what information Ghostdoku (the "game") collects, how it is used, who receives it and how you can control it. By using the game you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.
1. Summary
- Ghostdoku is a free puzzle game. It has no account and never asks for your name, email or contacts.
- Your progress and settings are stored only on your device. We run no servers that receive data from the game.
- The game shows ads from Google AdMob. AdMob collects device and advertising data to show and measure ads.
- We use Google Analytics for Firebase to see how the game is played, and Firebase Remote Config to adjust how often ads appear. Analytics does not collect your advertising ID.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we ask for your consent first. On iPhone and iPad, tracking needs your permission.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we collect and how we use it
2.1 Data stored on your device
The game saves on your device:
- your progress through the levels and your in-game supplies;
- your settings, such as sound and music;
- counters that decide when the next full-screen ad may appear;
- your ad consent choices, where you were asked for them.
This data is used only to run the game and is not sent to us. Deleting the game removes it, subject to how your operating system handles app data.
2.2 Advertising: Google AdMob
AdMob shows a full-screen ad between levels and optional video ads that you choose to watch for a reward. Depending on your device, region and settings, AdMob and its partners collect:
- device identifiers: the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, only if you allow tracking; the Android advertising ID, unless you have deleted it) and other app or device identifiers;
- your IP address, which may be used to estimate a coarse location such as your country or city;
- ad interactions: which ads were shown, tapped or watched;
- device and app information: model, operating system, language, app version;
- diagnostics: crash and performance data from the ads software.
How it is used: to serve and measure ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to prevent fraud. Ads are personalised only where you have consented or, outside regions that require consent, where you have not opted out on your device. Ads in Ghostdoku are limited to content suitable for a general audience.
Consent: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent form (User Messaging Platform) asks for your choices before any ad is requested, and passes them to AdMob and Firebase. On iPhone and iPad, a short message is followed by Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
2.3 Analytics: Google Analytics for Firebase
Analytics shows us which levels are too hard, where players stop playing and how ads affect that. It collects:
- an app-instance ID, a random identifier created when the game is installed;
- game events: a level started or ended, and how (cleared, restarted or left), hearts lost, hints used, time spent; reward video offers shown and watched; full-screen ads shown, and the revenue each ad earned;
- standard usage data: first launch, sessions, app version, device model, operating system, language, and country derived from your IP address.
Analytics in Ghostdoku is configured not to collect the advertising identifier. It does not know who you are and does not follow you across other apps. Test builds send no events to our production analytics.
2.4 Remote settings: Firebase Remote Config
Remote Config lets us change how often full-screen ads appear without releasing an update. To fetch these settings the game sends a Firebase installation ID and basic device and app information.
2.5 Network access
The game uses the internet only to load ads, send analytics events and fetch remote settings. It can be played offline; ads and reward videos are then unavailable.
3. Legal bases for processing
For players in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and similar jurisdictions:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Running the game and saving your progress on your device | Performance of a contract: providing the game you chose to play |
| Personalised ads, storing and reading information on your device for ads | Your consent |
| Analytics | Your consent, where the law requires it; otherwise our legitimate interest in improving the game |
| Non-personalised or limited ads, fraud prevention, ad frequency limits | Our legitimate interest in funding a free game, and Google's in keeping ads safe |
| Remote game settings | Our legitimate interest in adjusting the game without an update |
You can object to processing or withdraw consent at any time; see sections 8 and 9.
4. Sharing of information
We share information only with:
- Google (AdMob, Firebase and the User Messaging Platform), which receives it directly from your device and processes it on our behalf and, for some purposes, as an independent controller under its own terms;
- authorities, if required by law, regulation or an enforceable legal request.
Google describes how it uses this data in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services, in the Google Privacy Policy and in Privacy and Security in Firebase.
5. International transfers
Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses for these transfers.
6. Data retention
- Data on your device: until you delete the game or clear its data.
- Analytics event data: 2 months, after which Google deletes it from our reports.
- Data that Google collects as an independent controller: as described in Google's policies linked above.
7. Children's privacy
Ghostdoku is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child's data was collected, write to support@olhonyx.com and we will take reasonable steps to have it deleted.
8. Your choices
- Consent. Open the game's Settings and tap Privacy settings to review or withdraw your consent at any time. The button appears where consent is required.
- Tracking on iOS. Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If tracking is off, the game never receives your IDFA.
- Advertising ID on Android. Settings → Privacy → Ads (on some phones Settings → Google → Ads), then delete your advertising ID.
- Stop all collection. Deleting the game stops all collection and removes the data stored on your device. A new install gets a new app-instance ID that is not linked to the old one.
Ads keep appearing whatever you choose; without consent they are simply not personalised.
9. Your rights
EEA, UK, Switzerland and similar. You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable form, and you may withdraw consent at any time. You can also complain to a data protection authority; ours is the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.
United States, including California. Depending on your state, you may have rights to access, delete or correct your data and to opt out of its "sale", "sharing" or use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Where the law treats personalised ads as "sharing", you can opt out with the device settings in section 8.
To make a request, email support@olhonyx.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject. Because the game has no account, we cannot find your data by name or email: analytics data is linked only to a random app-instance ID, and it expires after 2 months in any case. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
10. Security
We keep the data we handle to a minimum and rely on Google's safeguards for the data its services process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to this policy
If the game starts collecting different data, we will update this page and its effective date before the new version reaches the stores. For material changes we may also give notice in the game or on its store page.
